is it safe to use binaural beats to treat depression instead of medication?

I believe that although binaural beats are perfectly safe, there's no evidence showing that they are effective in treating depression. If you want to use binaural beats, I would recommend using them in addition to psychotherapy (which has been proven to be just as, if not more effective than medication) or medication.

Why do we let little things upset us so much when we can take such big things in our stride? Because, generally speaking, there is nothing we can do about the big things, so we may as well accept them. There may be nothing we can do about the little things either, but we can at least imagine how easy it may have been to change them. Then we can invoke the two most dangerous words in the English language: 'if' and 'only'. Like nitrogen and glycerol, they are harmless on their own, but when you mix them… devastation. You can have a great life as long as you avoid explosive emotions.

    good luck

I once used Binaural beats to help me get over anxiety, I can't say for sure if it was this, the meditation or the anxiety just gradually working itself out but it did seem to help, word of advice though; Do not use them at the Theta range. REM (which is what The the theta state induces) Is known to be associated with anxiety and depression. Use them at Alpha, and when you are using them meditate over a positive affirmation DO NOT use the words; can't won't or not. I stopped using them in the end and my anxiety came back, haven't used them since because I looked into other therapies and methods. Give it a try, yes it's safe the beats just recreate states we all go into during the day and night anyway.
